Inspired
by
a
noble
idea
that
hit
upon
a
Chicago
Lawyer,
the
first
Rotary
Club
was
born
in
1905.
Soon
it
grew
and
with
the
formation
of
the
first
Club
outside
the
USA
at
Winnipeg,
Canada
in
1907,
Rotary
became
international.
R.I.
President
Bomer's
expansion
programme
was
taken
up
seriously
by
Dist.
Governor
Rtn.
Venugopal.
All
efforts
to
implement
it
were
taken
by
Extension
Committee
Chairman
Subramaniam.
Rotary
Club
of
Calicut
East
explored
the
idea
of
expansion
and
took
initiative
in
this
respect.
PP.
Nalin
D.
Sampath,
PP.
Joseph
Jacob,
PP.
K.Bhaskaran
Nair
and
many
senior
members
of
Calicut
East
Club
completed
the
procedures.
Thus
the
Provisional
Rotary
Club
of
Calicut
Midtown
was
born
on
4th
July
1980.
From
4th
July
till
29th
August
the
club
remained
as
a
provisional
club
and
later
was
admitted
to
RI
on
29th
August
1980
with
a
strength
of
27
members. |
